When choosing sizes, know our sizes very closely match men’s clothing sizes. If you match the size you would wear in a men’s sweatshirt you will likely have your best fit. If you are between sizes we suggest sizing up. Our ventilated bee jackets are lightweight and it is better to have the extra room when working bees.
Note: The chest measurement is the jackets actual maximum circumference. If you have a chest measurement of 42 and get a jacket with 42 inch chest measurement it will fit skin tight.
The waist of our bee jackets is VERY stretchy by design. This makes a tight closure around your waist keeping bees out. This size chart “Waist Not Stretched” measurement is the circumference of the jacket when laid flat with no tension on the elastic. The waist will stretch from this measurement to the fully stretched measurement.

This is a very nice jacket. It literally weighs less than half as much as my last jacket that was “vented”. I have used it quite a bit before reviewing. It is very breathable and seems well made. We have 100 + heat indexes here in South Alabama right now and every little bit of breath-ability helps. The only thing I would do different is order 1 size larger. It fits good in the living room but once in the bee yard and working. The waste rides up and I have to keep pulling it down hoping not to catch a bee in the process. I did use the size measurements given and measured myself before ordering. Seemed well within the measurements given but the torso length is too short for me. Still, its a great jacket so far.

I recently purchased this jacket and love it. It is much cooler than my canvas traditional suit. I typically wear either jeans and a tank top or jeans and a tee shirt, and I’m always cooler up top than I am with my normal jeans. Definitely a game changer for working the bees in the heat. You can feel a breeze right through the jacket.
I believe in leaving perfectly honest reviews, and there are a few cons: the jacket zippers seem to not be quite as durable as the old school suit I got from Mann Lake, the Velcro at the neck tends to snag on the rest of the suit, but this isn’t a huge deal. Due to the nature of the suit material, it does seem it will snag much easier, but I have worked my bees several times in the jacket, and no snags so far.
Some pros: I really like the fencing veil and zipper option. That’s so handy. The fencing veil is much larger than the fencing veil on my old school suit. I don’t even always wear a baseball cap with it and it stays out away from my face. I’ve not worn the round veil yet to work the bees, but it seems high quality as well. The jacket does not come with the bag that some of the reviews mentioned, so I requested this, and they promptly sent it out, free of charge. This is perfect to keep the round veil in. This company has great customer service- I’ve reached out multiple times (about when the order would come, I was just very excited to get it, and then also when I realized there was no bag) and they were always friendly and prompt to respond. They even wrote a little note on the receipt. This company is a keeper! I wish they sold other beekeeping supplies as well, as this is a company I’d be happy to support.
I forgot to mention that I am a 5’ 3” woman, and struggle to find a suit that fits me. THIS FITS!!! my bust was half an inch more than the recommended size and I still opted to get the smallest size jacket. There’s just enough spare space in the jacket for it to be perfectly comfortable. It doesn’t look like I’m swimming in it! Yay!

It’s comfortable and fits! I am female at 5’5″ at 150 lbs and I bought a medium which I normally wear in Mens. I was expecting to have exchange it for being to big but it’s a perfect fit. It’s snug around the hands and waist to keep bees out! It’s roomy and airy to move a round in without being restricted! For the ladies, I would buy whatever Men size you wear for the jacket. I am still trying to figure out which veil that I like the most. Great projection for a first time bee keeper!
